Course Details and Structure

    • Duration: 18 months theory (N4, N5, N6) + 18 months practical in-service training.

    • Curriculum: Core subjects include Medical Practice, Office Practice, Information Processing (including typing/word processing), and Communication.

    • Qualification Level: The program is designed to equip students with the skills for administrative work in medical environments.

    • Certification: Upon completion of all levels and practical training, students receive the National N Diploma issued by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).

NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN HEALTH CARE PROMOTION OFFICER

Key Aspects of the Program:

  • Purpose: To train individuals to provide preventative, promotive, and basic palliative care at a community level.

  • Key Responsibilities: Conducting health screenings (temperature, blood pressure), identifying risks, tracing treatment defaulters, and providing health education.

  • Admission Requirements: Minimum of Grade 10, 11, or 12. If no Grade 12, a Foundational Learning Competence (FLC) certificate may be required.
